Daylight and Building Component Award
Both Foundations can at their discretion present the Daylight and Building Component Award.
From 1980 to 2011 this award has been presented 20 times, alternately by the VELUX FOUNDATION and by the VILLUM FOUNDATION. An award policy has now been adopted under which the award will be made on behalf of both Foundations. At present (2010), the award is worth 100,000 € .
The award can be presented to individuals or small groups in Denmark and abroad for artistic, scientific or practical achievements in promoting appreciation of the value and importance of daylight, its practical application in everyday life, or similar achievements in respect of industrially manufactured building components.
The award is not granted following application to the Foundations, but solely on the recommendation of a committee of experts appointed by the boards of the Foundations.
The award has been given in 2008-2011 as an international award under the name 'The VILLUM FOUNDATION and the VELUX FOUNDATION Daylight and Building Components Award'.
